Crowdfunding Scuttlebutt

A pet project by all means, Crowdfunding Scuttlebutt was a newsletter started by yours truly in late 2019. Its purpose was to be distributed to FLGS (industry-speak for Friendly Local Game Store(s)) to help them stock more indie games. Indie games were and still are a growing market in the Board Game industry, and FLGS struggle to keep up with the market.

For this project, I designed a newsletter from scratch and combed through the depths of Kickstarter for promising upcoming projects that were still open. I also contacted and worked with the game designers to create appropriate merchant-level (wholesale) pledges for my clients.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 hit shortly after I began this project, so it was put on hold. Many game stores never recovered after the effects of the government shutdowns in the United States, and I then moved abroad effectively ending the project.
